Recently moved...Dog misbehaving?

I have a german shepherd mixed 35 pounds and we just moved from an apartment to a house. This is his 3rd move and the first time he has ever misbehaved. We have always crated him and he was perfectly fine. Now he pees all in his crate and lies in it. We have to clean it every day because it stinks up the house. We have lived in the new house (3 floors) for about 6 wks now and we have 2 other animals ( a dog and a cat) who are very well adjusted. We keep him on the bottom floor bc he messes up the carpet.The only option I can think of is to put him outdoors bc we do not want the house to smell up like pee. Any suggestions?? Please...
