you should go to the dentist and have him take an x-ray just to see what treatment recommendation he gives you. You don't have to do the treatment but can take antibiotics. However, that's just a short term fix, if you're going to be there for a while, you'll still need to get it treated or the pain and infection will return. It sounds like the tooth may need either root c treatment or may have to be pulled, just depends on how much decays there are. Twice a year dental check up and clean is suffice plus impeccable oral hygiene and a good diet.
