Boyfriend wants a Prenup, what do I do?

My boyfriend of 2.5 years mentioned a prenup about a year ago after a couple people at work talked to him about the idea. He says its to protect his retirement pension plan and in the event we are married and then get divorced he doesnt want to give me anything since AZ is a 50/50. His comments were that its his hard earned money and if we werent to be together than he shouldnt have to pay me a dime. We have talked about marriage here and there and its something we both want but now he has it in his mind that a prenup is a must to protect him. My thoughts on a prenup...ok for a rich person or someone that has significant ets coming into a marriage....but for the common man and woman just starting their lives together (mind you I was with him before he got his heroic job) and building a life I dont see the need. I feel like hes planning for a divorce before we even getting married & lack of trust and devotion on his part. I love him so much but I dont believe in this at all.
